This event was originally planned for 2020 but has been postponed until Bank Holiday Saturday 28th August 2021. Tickets already purchased will be valid for the new date. About the Mayflower 400 Bonfire - Great Torrington Cavaliers (torrington-cavaliers.co.uk)
Our big bonfire events are truly spectacular and world renown. The construction of the themed centre piece takes in excess of 2 years to build and the attention to detail is amazing, but we would say that!
On the night itself there will be music, fun and information about our history etc.. on the very big screen progressing the build up as the light disappears.
The spectacular starts with a massive Pyromusical fireworks display, themed to music, and fired from the ship this is an event in its own right! Then when we have cleared the cabling for the fireworks we will begin the the lighting ceremony, followed by the finale display which will be high in the sky!!! AN EVENT YOU WILL NEVER FORGET!!!
Assist with stewarding onsite.
This is a Major charity fundraising event which achieves international acclaim and is commemorating the sailing of the Mayflower in 1620. We have nearly completed the build (3 years) of a FULL size replica of the Mayflower in port with a quay and building to rear. This will be spectacularly burnt after entertainment and a Pyromusical – see www.torrington-cavaliers.co.uk
General stewarding, which maybe on the gates, crowd control and assistance and access control to restricted parts of the site. You will be working as a team working with SIA guards, us and other organisations helping us too.
We will be trying our best to ensure that all volunteer stewards will be able to see the Pyromusical, fire and finale display.
